My Story

Translating Theory: How Academic Innovation Solves Real-World Problems?

Since 2015, I have been deeply engaged with the foundational questions of competition law. My research journey began with my Bachelor’s thesis, examining the concept of "restriction by object." Even then, I recognized an imbalance between economic efficiency and societal values, which sparked my search for a methodological solution. Since this insight, I have analyzed the limits of intent and intentionality within quasi-criminal competition law—investigating the intersection where the morality of criminal law meets the economic efficiency of administration.

In 2018, I continued expanding on this theme in my award-winning Master’s thesis, applying a theoretical reconstruction focused on proportionality analysis. This balance-oriented approach was fully integrated into a coherence framework for my doctoral dissertation, completed in May 2023. This work is a principled theory of sanctioning under quasi-criminal law. The core of my dissertation examines the dynamics between competition law, economic efficiency, and fundamental rights, focusing on the limits of interpretation and argumentation models within a human dignity-centered Rule of Law. My most recent writings expand more deeply into socio-economic considerations and the precautionary principle as an integral component of proportionality analysis.

My methodological work draws on the concept of value coherence. This approach is enriched by a socio-ethical nuance from my theological background, alongside a profound belief in the equal and indivisible dignity of every human being.

I entered consulting in 2021 and I am recognized for the application of my proportionality-based analytical approach. The societal impact of my work is a core motivator for me, driving me to find balanced, economically rational solutions to practical problems, deeply rooted in my specialized academic expertise.
